I have been through the download, install & reboot process several times but the install doesn't work and I am still on 10.13.2. I can see the download happening and then the system reboots but then the App Store shows the update is still waiting to download and install. Feels like Groundhog Day!

Update: Problem solved by disabling Bitdefender (antivirus software). System installed ok and re-enabled Bitdefender and all working just fine. Interesting though this is the first time an update has been stalled even though I have had Bitdefender on my MAC for over a year. Will see what happens next time an update is issued.
Well, no, the combo installer download also failed to do the update.
My advice there is to see if you have something running in the background and disable this then try running the install. It could well be Parallels in this case.
Simialr issue. After reading this I looked and found Dashlane password agent running. Uninstalled it and Sierra completed update.
Same for me. The combo installer didn’t help. I’m still stuck on 10.13.2

How can I find out what is running in the background if I can't restart the Mac?
I had this same problem with 10.3.2 and got past it with the combo installer. The combo installer didn't fix my issue for 10.3.3 either.
I don't have BitDefender either, and this download did the trick. Thank you!
Installing the Combo update - although I had to reload the App store page several times before the update appeared - did it for me.

Thank you @balrob, the download finally worked for me. I also disabled Little Flocker and Little Snitch... thinking one of them may have been blocking...

As promised, I can confirm that the next update (10.13.4) installed without problems. It took about 20min to install...
