Totally agree. I don't want to nor do I keep my phone on all the time. Again I wish Apple would address this quickly. I have lost 4 messages in one day!

This has been happening to me for a while now. At first I wasn't sure, but now it is clear that the messages are disappearing. I get a notification, I look at my phone, I see a text and can read the initial section, I unlock my phone, the text is nowhere to be found. This is happening for work and has lead to several upset clients and lost business. Please help solve this.
Me to this is driving me crazy
Thanks for letting us know how to make persistent.
Same thing happened to me!
Yup same
So I guess there is still no solution for this problem? I have it too on 6s
I've been having the identical issue the past several months. Missed an important meeting because of this bug.
I realize that it is a regular user, is that where the “Apple recommended” comes from also?

Then being rude to them is even less forgivable.
I only get some of the lost messages in iMessage on my iPad not all of them???
Just submitted a bug report!
Thanks for the link, I hadn't had time to investigate, and sure as **** wasn't going to wait hours speaking to level 1-2 tech support.
So no solution yet??
If you read the thread you posted to you will know as much as anyone can know about this subject.
Same problem, iPhone 6s, on Telstra in Australia.
Annoying AF
Mine was already on persistent. Apple needs to address this problem ASAP!
Why are text messages disappearing
