ford sync 3 won't play audio via bluetooth or USB with iPhone 7

I have a 2017 Ford F-150 with Sync 3 and a iPhone 7 with current IOS (11.2.5 ) as of 28JAN18. I can make calls and the Sync system shows my phone connected for calls and music, also under bluetooth my device is showing up and connected for call and music. However, when selecting Bluetooth from the audio selections it searches for my device and then reverts back to the radio, while still searching for my bluetooth. When I do the same steps but this time select the connected device via USB selection, I get the same outcome except it says searching USB port 1/2 which the phone is connected to USB 1. I have done the delete paired device on the vehicle side, and the forget device on the iPhone side, turned off the vehicle, opened the door so the systems completely shuts down, restarted the iPhone (both soft reset and powering down), then started the truck, and paired the devices again. It's about a 50/50% success rate, but that success only last until the vehicle is turned off. Please forgive that run on sentence. PLEASE someone help me figure this issue out.

I'm in the same boat, 2017 Ford Focus with Sync 3, I've tried v2.2, v2.3 & unofficial v3.0 with the same luck.

Talking with Ford Chat they are aware that the update had broken AppLink but were not aware of the audio issue.

CarPlay does work for me just not SYNC audio.

Shaay says: We are aware that the recent update to iPhones has caused an issue with AppLink. Ford is actively working with Apple to develop a fix as soon as possible.

Nathan says: gotcha

Nathan says: will this be an update threw sync or ios?

Shaay says: With the new update, we found that mobile apps do not appear when testing it. I'm unable to speculate if this issue will be resolved with an update on our end or Apple's.

Nathan says: will this also fix the fact that I can't play music thrrew bluetooth or usb via SYNC only CarPlay?

Shaay says: We've only reported issues with AppLink. Did the Bluetooth Audio and USB issue occur after updating as well?

Nathan says: correct

Nathan says: The bluetooth device connects but when attempting to play audio, it hangs slightly and then disconnects

Shaay says: Got it. I'll report that for you.

I had similar problem with my IPad. Bluetooth and USB worked fine prior to iOS 11.2.5 update last Friday. Next day, Bluetooth connection still worked but usb would n work. After much troubleshooting, I finally decided to roll back to iOS 11.2.2 and reload 11.2.5 And perform a restore. Once restore was complete, hooked back up to sync and both Bluetooth and usb worked great.

I am having similar issue with Sync2 MFT on 2015 F150 & iPhone 7plus (ios 11.2.6) in that I can no longer play music on iphone through BT. This had been working prior to most recent update. I can make calls and receive texts, but thats it. When I look at options for the phone on MFT, the phone icon is blue, but the music icon is grayed out.

Please fix this immediately.
