playing bass line on guitar. want to drop track an octave. Know garageband can do this but cant figure out how! help!

How do you drop a guitar track one octave to get a bass sound in GarageBand?

If you are asking about a software instrument track: Have you tried to select all regions in the guitar track at once, then open the editor and shift the Transpose slider to -12 (for one octave)?

It may not work, if the selected Guitar patch does not support the lower notes. All software instruments have a limited range of notes they can play. In that case switch the patch for the track to a bass instrument.

Greetings HT. Many thanks- problem solved. BUT IN STRANGE WAY! Noticed in pic you included that pitch correction bar was quite low at bottom of page. Not visible on my page. Somehow thought to click “full screen”... and there it was! There all the time- just couldn’t see it!!! Hey I’m new at this! Actually have a bass guitar but it’s in NJ and I’m out of state for the winter... now I can play! Thx🍷
