Digitizer suddenly stops working

I recently got a iPhone 6 Plus this Christmas and the day I got it I noticed that just out of nowhere, the screen would become unresponsive, the only fix was to shut the display off and turn it back on and it would work for a while, after I got the phone I replaced the battery and all of the cables look fine and i haven’t damaged any of them, the digitizer lately goes nuts and won’t work for long periods of time, I’ve tore open the phone numerous times and have found no damage to the cables or the board in any way, I’m not like a certified Apple mechanic but I can do simple things like replacing the battery and screens and so on, and I know how to do it right. Any help on this issue would help me tons, thanks!

I don’t have the time Or money to take I to an Apple store anyway, I only take it apart because I know how to do it right, I’ve examined the cables and the pins on the board and they are good, I’m just confused as to why it works normally but it randomly stops, the phone is in near perfect condition and it’s been a case all it’s life

Could be the dreaded "Touch Disease". It's not always the digitizer, but from malfunctioning touch controllers ICs where poor quality solder connections are broken. Apple won't repair it for free out of warranty (they claim it only happens when they're dropped), but there's a discount compared to their standard out of warranty repair service. Whether or not you opened it up may or may not be apparent and may not affect whether Apple is willing to service it.

The problem with trying to do this repair yourself is that ball-grid array packages are nearly impossible to rework without specific BGA rework equipment. It requires directed heat applied to the package. I've heard of professional companies that can do it. Many re-ball the package, but just remelting it may be enough. I've heard that some even insist that lead solder balls work better. It's pretty well known that lead is superior, but it obviously comes with certain health risks.

I don’t think it’s that disease because I see no gray lines or any lines to where the pixels aren’t showing what’s on the display, and people “twist” their phone and it pops and fixed it, I have none of that and I would not like to break it by twisting it, I had a suspicion that it was that but the symptoms aren’t the same, my digitizer sometimes works for hours on end and other times it doesn’t respond, I had a thought that it is something in the software just stuck on something and not allowing the digitizer to be used because it’s too busy doing other things, but I don’t know what goes on in the phone software wise with the digitizer

If you're thinking it's the digitizer and you've gotten this far (I'm personally to scared, then an aftermarket glass replacement part is pretty cheap. I don't know where you're located, but the cheapest kit on Amazon's US site is less than $18.

I understand that the trickiest part to get right is the home button. I had someone visiting Asia have the glass on an iPad Mini 2 replaced. Might have cost $15 because the aftermarket part was cheap and the labor was even cheaper. There was a slight red streak under the glass, the front-facing camera wasn't centered in the clear, round window, and the home button wasn't flush with the glass. But it worked until it got smashed up.
