Car Play doesnt work with Apple Music/itunes

Hi

Wondering if any one has had a problem with CarPlay showing all icons & can use everything but the music app. Every time I touch it it crashes out and goes back to app screen. I have had no issues until my apple music crashed yesterday afternoon.

It shows on my phone but yesterday when i was using on my phone it crashed while using apple music and i had to restart my phone. I have a 7 plus on iOS 11.2.5, until yesterday i have had no problems.

I have tried logging out of icloud, resetting the phone network settings, reset the car to factory setting and nothing has worked.

Can anyone help please.

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities.

I see that you are having an issue with the Music app working on CarPlay. Every time you try to use the Music app, it crashes and goes back to the app screen. This started yesterday when the Music app 'crashed' on your iPhone.

Have you tried to delete the Music app and re-download from the App Store? If not, please try that and see if this helps using the Music app on your iPhone and in CarPlay.
Delete built-in Apple apps on your iOS 11 device or Apple Watch

Hi Jameson

Thank you thank you the deleting & reinstalling worked. I usually do this but I didn’t think that app could be deleted but it has worked and life has returned to normal.
