CD / DVD drive Sharing between Emac and New MacMini 2012

CD / DVD drive Sharing between Emac and New MacMini 2012, Connection is Ethernet. It lets me look at folders and such just not the drive.

Trying to use my Optical drive in my ole Emac( Orig OS on it) from my 2012 mac mini and my 2012 MacBook Pro using High Sierra 10.13.3 I have all the sharing boxes checked but am getting the message " Waiting for Disc Drive". What gives? Can you only do CD sharing if you are using the same OS or what?
