Can my iPhone X use wifi to complete ATT calls?

I have used ATT as my iPhone service since the beginning, but service in and around my suburban NJ home is poor. Maybe 2 bars, if I'm lucky.

I work from home and ATT gave me a 3G microcell in 2010 that I used for years and seemed to give me good coverage in my home.

System updates recently no longer connected my iPhone to the microcell. Or maybe it was my iPhone x hardware upgrade. Whatever. No more Microcell.

But I was told that my iPhone X would be able to make calls over wifi when there was not a good cell tower signal. My home wifi is broadcast by my 2016 3T Time Capsule.

But I still seem to be getting bad reception. Dropping calls.

What is the truth about iPhone X using wifi to make ATT cell calls when there is bad reception?

iPhone X, iOS 11.2.5

Yes, AT&T offers wifi calling, and yes, the iPhone X is compatible with that. In your phone settings, tap on cellular and you will see the AT&T option for wifi calling. If it says “on” then your device will use wifi calling when cellular signal is weak, and you are within range of and connected to a wifi network.
