Does iCloud still work on iPad 1st gen?

I still use my iPad 1st gen for some daily news reading but last week I found iCloud couldn't be logged in on it. I could find iCloud in settings but be noticed to tapped into password which got from my other apple device when I want to log in.

So at moment iPad 1st gen has been given up, right?

I'm not using 2 Factor Authentication as you appear to be using.

But when I tap on Settings->iCloud->Account, I get a screen with a place to type in email address, and password. The 2 factor authentication verification code, should be typed in the same space as the password, following it, without any spaces. If your password is mypasswrd and your verification code is 123456 you would type mypasswrd123456 in the password space.

How?!

I selected iCloud option in settings and tapped user name/password as required but then be noticed to tap another temporary password which I could get from my other apple device.

The point is: I got the temporary password from my iPhone but I couldn't find any place to tap my password in on the screen. Do you understand what I said?
