When attempting reset, no amber light flashes, only white.

But that never happens. I have the same problem as the original post, except my right AirPod won't work and they won't reset. I hold the reset button and it slowly flashes white, never flashes amber. I can hold it for 2 mins to no avail. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

Me too... I got it 2 months ago and I somehow fixed that problem. This morning when I woke up the same problem occurred again and now I don't know what to do.
What worked for me was to connect my airpods to another charging case and reset it with theirs. Afterwards, when I put my airpods in my case, it began to work well again. All it needs is to be reset.
Thank you so much! I had the same problem as you described and slamming against a table was the only solution that helped me.
I followed this as well as cleaning the bottom very well and they are good. When in doubt slam it on the table.
