How to stop windows sliding between open applications

Hi there,

I am using latest Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.2

I am facing an issue with window sliding. Suppose Safari is my active window & at the moment if I open new application then Safari slides away to open that app.

What if I want another app on top of Safari app?

Please suggest a way.

Thanks,

Amar

Hi Eric,

Thanks for the response. I can see only one desktop there.

NO. In your screenshot, you see "Desktop" and "Safari" - indicating that Safari is running in fullscreen mode.

Any fullscreen application automatically gets its own desktop, so you have TWO.

If you want to get Safari out of fullscreen, move the cursor to the menu bar, so the green/yellow/red buttons appear, and click the green button:

When safari window is set to full screen mode ( can use control , command and F keys ) and you open simultaneously say an application calendar , with the help of spotlight or launchpad , the screen folds or slides away and left over is only calendar application .

Now , if you want only calendar application to stay on the desktop , right click on safari icon in the dock and click on quit .

Calendar application is left on the desktop and is on the top .

A screen shot for full screen mode .

Clarification questions - what do you mean by Safari slides away? Is the newly opened application in another Desktop window?

---> I can see this issue with full screen of any app.

If I am using safari with full screen & if I launch another app let's say Real Time Player then it won't open by keeping Safari at background, instead Safari slides away as its in full screen mode.

This way you can reproduce what I am wanted to say.

Please let me know if you too face the same issue on your system. Note that, I don't use Apple Mouse. I use Dell Mouse. Neither I use external trackpad.
