Creating mailboxes on iPad

I have been able to successfully create new mailboxes to organize my mail on my iPhone. I am not able to do it on my new iPad (purchased Jan.2018). I can choose add new mailbox, name it , and select a location, but when I choose save, I get an error message that says, could not save to server. Same server as my phone...
