The High Sierra Finder does have a bug and won't copy files > 2GB to a FAT32 drive. You can Still copy up to 4GB using the Terminal.
cp <source file> <target volume>
or
cp -R <source folder> <target volume>

The easiest way is to open the Terminal, type cp followed by a space, drag the file you want copy into the Terminal window, then drag the USB drive icon into the window. Hit return and wait for it to finish.
Hello Phillips. Thanks for coming in.
Runing macOS on after market SATA 6G SSD, original platter in the secondary bay. It was all running smooth with 10.13.2, I was even laughing at those people who call High Sierra beta software... until Apple dropped 10.13.3 update on my head.
Situation update since my previous post: couldn't keep working on a system with all disks behaving unpredictably, stayed up overnight saved what I could making a clean OS install on an external USB HDD. The external clean install could read all drives perfectly fine. Then, after backing up from there, I unplugged the USB drive and did the new clean install on the SSD.
Just finished, all seems fine now. Let's see.
Note that the 10.13.2 was a clean install, so this is not an issue of layers of updates over updates over an upgrade.
New High Sierra updates, no matter how urgent Apple might claim, will be put on hold now until we find free time for this madness all over again.
Hope you're having a pleasant weekend. Have some fun for me, pls!
Thank you for answer, but I won't reformatting my disk from Fat32 to another. This is only format supported by my Mac and my HDTV (together). Also I have on this disk all my movies > 0 Gb and < 4 Gb. It work nice, but now I cannot move new files > 2Gb and <4Gb from Mac to usb (for watching movies on TV). This is problem
Doesn't anyone test anything at Apple anymore?!
My 10.13.3 Finder is totally bugged, can't read from 2nd HDD, struggles to create new folders, stops responding when trying to erase them...
My DiskUtility is DEAD!!! It opens its window completely blank and sits "Loading disks" without a clue!
What the **** is going on in Cupertino?!
Anyone know how to revert to 10.13.2?
Thanks!
Things are only getting worse here.
My Mac mini 5,1 won't even properly shutdown after the 10.13.3 update.
Tried all sorts of workarounds, as in the post linked here, even reinstalling Mac OS (on the top, not clean install, can't afford it right now), nothing works.
All this mess to supposedly fix some cosmetics in iMessages, a piece of software that isn't even used by some 99% of non-Apple employee Mac users...
Apple was once a serious computer company.
Disk utility does not load disks...
That was a lot of work but end result seems to have paid off!
That said, after market SSD and Fusion Drives with HS are "tricky" to get working, I read.
Personally, I keep two separate CCC and TM on main computer with Stock Platter HD iMac, and same on 12" Retina MacBook Stock Apple SSD - 512GB plus a Full USB Bootable Installer of 10.13.3 as last resort. Over Kill? Not in my experience.
Good luck and hope all goes well Super Bowel Wknd.
Wise!
From the beginning I decided not to Fusion my drives so that in a moment like this I can clean install macOS on the SSD without killing my work files. Besides, the Fusion setup tends to beat up the drives a little more than I'd like.
Having a fast OS and app drive does the trick for me.
Cheers!
Thank you very match! It works great !
cp myMovie.mkv /Volumes/Untitled in my case
You're most welcome.
What is your Mac mini running? any after market SSD, Fusion Drive, platter HD
Try reformatting to exFat. There limitations with Fat32 and Fat16
