touchscreen quit working after ios 11.2.5 update

Went to Apple Store in Perth (Australia) after being without a proper phone for four weeks.

They replaced the display of the phone which ultimately fixed the issue. The phone was 1.5 years old - the cost of the screen replacement was covered under Australian consumer law.

It appears that only a small number of users are impacted by this issue - all after upgrading to iOS 11.2.5.

Since replacing the display seems to fix the issue, I assume that it is being caused by iOS 11.2.5 in combination with a specific version (or batch) of the touch screen.

Update to 11.2.5 on my second iPhone SE worked without any issues.

I’m right there with you on switching away from IPhone. It makes me so sad because I absolutely loved my 6 Plus before Apple started messing with it. It has never been dropped or damaged in any way and the battery check at Apple was good. It really ***** to spend almost a grand on a phone and it’s common acceptance you will have to buy another one in two years. None of my other electronics stop working this way........

Phone works enough to log on, but after that it is a crapshoot as to whether I can answer the phone by swipe, text a coherent message, or make any use of the device. Couldn't even power down, had to hard reboot for the 5th time today just to respond to a text.

I am so sick of iphones failure to support the already purchased devices in the public domain. We are not rich, just trying to get by, and we used to actually think iphone was a good product... now this iphone is bricked because of Apple's greed?

Mine also. Touch screen works abnormally. Apple should open signing server for downgrade. This is an serious issue!

Well if it's a hardware issue then only Apple can solve.

Make a genius bar appointment with Apple for an evaluation.

FYI, they have tools to test your iPhone.

I am having the same issue, it just started today. Touch screen is unresponsive, but Siri still works. Hard boot does nothing to fix the issue.

The same thing just happen to me (iphone 6s) . I've tried everything that i found on the web, nothing works.

Hi I have the same problem, fine some days, awful the next, just can’t do anything.

I have this same problem too. The screen locks intermittently. It works for a few minutes after a hard reboot then freezes again. Original screen and no previous work on the phone.

Removing the case didn't help. I was thinking is it worth it to upgrade to 8 or x, if they have the same problem?

I am having this same problem. Is there a fix yet? Very annoying I cannot use my phone. Back to my 5 until can get touchscreen to work at all times.

I took mine to the Apple store last week. They wiped it and it worked for a little bit, but then started freezing up again so I ended up swapping it for a new one.

I updated to 11.2.6 didn’t help. My appointment is on Friday with Apple, so I will see what the can do. Also if they fixed some how will try to update to 11.3 . There is public beta version.
