Apple Music songs downloaded for offline listening disappearing

I have downloaded most of my Apple Music library for offline listening on my iPhone 6S Plus, iOS 11.2.2

Every now and then (doesn’t seem to be a particular time or pattern) songs that I have downloaded will no longer be available offline. The songs are still there in any given playlist and can be streamed fine, however, the download is disappearing.

Have tried signing out/in and downloading songs again - issue persists.

Only thing I have noticed:

- sometimes this happens to a particular song after I play it
