iMovie red soundbar - missing audio files

Hi,

Not sure what is going on there. You might have broken some links by all the moving around.

Try clicking on the iMovie Library item in the side bar, and then do File/Consolidate Library Media.

Also click on the project icon beneath the Project Media item in the upper left of your screen, and do a File/Consolidate Project Media. See if that links things up again.

If not, try opening iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and selecting to delete preferences in the box that appears.

Another thing. Check the iMovie Backups folder to see if it contains backups of libraries that predated your moves.

The file path is: Go/Home/Library/Containers/com.apple.iMovieApp/Data/Library/Caches/iMovie Backups. iMovie will open in whatever library that you click on in the backups folder.

To touch all the bases, be sure that your external drive is formatted MAC OS Extended (journaled) that is necessary to hold an iMovie library. As you probably know, formatting the drive erases all the data on it, so if you need to reformat first remove or backup any data that you want to keep.

Out of curiosity: Have you tried taking one of faulty projects and moving it back to where it came from? If you do that, does the audio link up again? Have you tried reimporting the audio again? What happens when you do?
