ZXC keys randomly stops working on my Macbook Pro Retina

Hi,

I have a macbook pro retina (mid 2012) and have had this problem for about a year. The keys Z, X, and C randomly stops working and comes back working after a few seconds. I've not spilled anything ever on my laptop and it's very strange that just those three keys randomly shuts down whenever. Very annoying since I write on this laptop and those keys are very frequently used. I have also reinstalled the MacOS since it begun happening but that did not change much.

Any clues on what to do?

Best regards,

Jack

Unlikely the problem is software related and I'd think if it were because you spilled something that it wouldn't be intermittent as you describe. If it were 1 key I'd think that maybe you had a crumb or other object under the key which sometimes moved to interrupt but not 3 keys. So I'm thinking there's either a mechanical issue on that side of the keyboard or a loose cable. In either case, a trip to an Apple store or authorized repair center is probably your next step.
