downloading FROM a GPS Dog tracking App

I have a Mishiko dog tracker for one of my Westies that is a bit of a wanderer/pioneer.

The tracker and the Mishiko App work great. Within the app there is a logbook that saves the walks (and her wanderings) with an accurate mapping of the area beautifully.

I would so love to be able to download these maps/records of her walks but do not know where to start or, if it is even possible.

I'm sure there is probably a wizzy Apple person that could do this please help?

Glad you found a solution that works for you!

My current job/living situation wouldn't allow me to give a dog the care and attention it would need. And, I will never do terriers again. They are waaaay too smart.

My housemate with the 18-year old Jack Russell may be moving out. My cat will be bereft. I think she loves that dog more than she loves me.

Yes I have tried that unfortunately but, it is a quite young Czechoslovakian company and there is a language problem.

So that is why I am attempting to test the dexterity of the wizzy Apple people.

Thank you for your reply.

They seem to be improving their language skills and have replied. Stating there is no way to download from the logbook the only way is to take a screen shot.

On an iPhone that will not be very big so I'm going to transfer the app to an I pad with a bigger screen and try that. The app is not available for PC or Mac.

That's unfortunate. My rule is to think long and hard about committing to apps/devices that don't have an easy way to get the data out of them. The company may go out of business. I may switch to a device that doesn't support the app/device. All sorts of things. Lots of people had to scramble when iOS 11 was released because they had data in apps that had been abandoned and weren't updated to work with iOS 11. Data on your dog's activity (the fact that you can do that almost makes me want to get a dog!) is probably low priority enough that, if the app/device were good enough and cheap enough, I'd make the same choice you did.

Hi

Well I have made the investment now so I will have to take the chance of how long it will be before for some reason it becomes unusable the app or the tracker.

I think this company will find an alternative if the app becomes unsupported by Apple.

I got over the problem by loading the Mishiko app on my iPad which has a larger screen and, then took screen shots with my iPhone. The main reason I needed the pic was to send to some friends of mine in the Westie Rehoming UK who have experienced the same problem as myself. A wayward Westie with a very adventurous nature.

Your very sensible and responsible, so many people get a dog and leave it all day on it's own so sad.

I waited until I retired to get my 2 Westies and they have been throughly spoilt but, very well trained because I had the time.

I would start by contacting the developer of the product to find out what export options they offer.

Unfortunately, it really is dependent on the app and whether or not it lets you export the information. Google translate is pretty decent with European languages.
