Anchor Podcast App Not Updating?

Hi guys, I'm about to launch a podcast (its actually live but I haven't promoted it yet!)...I am using the Anchor App and I have updated the artwork in the Anchor App since I first started playing with it, however this has not been updated on ITunes.

Equally the I have deleted Episodes in the Anchor App, and yet they are still showing on Itunes!

Does anyone have any suggestions, tips, similar experiences and know how to fix this?

I have contacted the guys and girls at Anchor however no success yet...will keep trying!

The title in the feed, the Store and when subscribing is 'Real McCoy Fitness'. If that's not the title you want you will need to change it at Anchor. The image is also the same. However the Anchor page you link to calls itself 'Ricky Radio' and has an episode which doesn't seem to match what's in the feed. This suggests you've changed things at Anchor but failed to publish a new version of the feed.

Anchor generates a feed - you couldn't get it into the iTunes Store without one - though it may possibly be one of these systems which generates a new feed on each request. The URL I quoted before:


https://anchor.fm/s/26c3e08/podcast/rss


is a feed created by Anchor, and it is that which the iTunes Store is using - they both match. If that feed doesn't contain the changes you've made it's because you've not done something within Anchor which you previously did to update the feed. What is different between what's in the feed and the iTunes Store page and what you want to see?

Well I have changed the title for ricky Radio, changed the covert art, and deleted 3 episodes and none of that has taken effect yet.


Anchor states that you just change the items in the anchor app and hit save. They then update your feed and send fhe changes to Apple. That’s the only way to update it and i have done that already a few days ago. The first time I did it when originally setting it up it worked and now it isn’t. The only thing that’s been working is adding episodes, but nothing else. I’m not even sure where you go that feed link from. I may have to contact anchor support.

I started with the web page you originally linked to. That includes a 'Listen on Apple Podcasts' link which leads to the iTunes Store page I quoted above. Going from there to the iTunes Store within iTunes from the link on that page, I then subscribed to your podcast, which then appeared in the iTunes Podcasts page. Control-clicking on the title of the podcast there enables me to retrieve the feed URL.


When you make a change in a feed it can take the Store 1-2 days to catch up, because it caches the feeds and checks them in rotation. However when you subscribe the iTunes application reads the feed directly, so any changes appear there as soon as you subscribe. In your case the feed matches the Store page but does not match the Anchor page.


Contact Anchor Support is the only way of proceeding with the investigation: give them the details I've quoted.
