Time capsule file transfer from MacBook
If I use a time capsule, and have a MacBook that isn't backed up to it, can individual folders/files be transferred to the time capsule from that MacBook?

Two reasons why it is recommended not to store your data on any disk drive used for backup.
First, anything stored on the same disk drive as the backup is not able to be backed up so is subject to lost incase of disk drive failure.
Second, personal data store with Time Machine backups causes Time Machine to have a difficult time when it attempts to do it garbage collection to regain disk space.
