Adware in Backups
Hi All,
I'm new to the forum so this question might have been posed before. I have done a certain amount of research but what I have found is old, so things might have moved on.
So I have run Bitdefender and it has turned up a number of what look like adware programs. All of them however are in backups. Bitdefender has tried to quarantine them however could not do so. The adwares found are:
Application.MAC.InstallMiez.BGV
Adware.MAC.OpinionSpy.B
Gen.variant.adware.MAC.OSX.BundloreCA.1
Gen.variant.application.MAC.OSX.InstallMiez1
Therefore:
1. Should I be concerned?
2. If I am to remove them, how do I do it? I have read previous posts that suggest you should only use TimeMachine to remove files from backup.
3. I have read varying reviews of Bitdefender. Some say it is good, individuals on some of the posts suggest it is not worth having. I admit some of the posts are old. What is the latest opinion regarding virus checkers for Macs and Bitdefender?
