Google Chrome jumping between windows on MacOS

I am running 10.13.3 of MacOS and I've had this problem come up recently where Google Chrome keeps jumping between my windows/spaces. When I use Google Chrome, I typically fullscreen 2 or more windows of Chrome to work on different things. Lately, when I click go to a link on one of the windows and then switch to another one window (with 3 finger swipes to the left or right), it redirects me back to the original Chrome window I was on if the page is loading. How can I prevent this or what settings would I need to change? This suddenly started happening yesterday.
