Every time I try to open Mail, this is the pop up I get, "Mail needs to repair its information about your mailboxes."
The messages tells me to 'Quit and re-open Mail'. I've done this several times, but I still cannot get Mail to open. Any suggestions?

Try opening Mail with the shift key held down. If that works, try rebuilding the mailboxes.
Try re-indexing the mailboxes. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.
Reindex messages For El Capitan, try looking in V3. Sierra use V4. High Sierra use V5.

That didn’t seem to work. I tried it several times, I’ve restarted my MacBook Pro, I’ve deleted all potential emails on my phone, that could be an issue, and I still can’t get it to open.
When I hold the shift key down, then open Mail, I still get the same pop up telling me to either ‘Quit’ or ‘Quit and Rebuild’. Either way,
"Mail needs to repair its information about your mailboxes."
