Can't upload photos i took with iphone

Hi everybody. I have a problem uploading my photos i took with iphone to my Photos library. The issue is of this kind: While away, I needed to make some space on the iphone. I connect iphone with windows laptop and when iphone disk showed up i moved photos from iphone to Windows desktop. I copied these photos on external drive and now, when I want to upload these photos to mac photo library I can't do that. I receive info about error :"Unable to read metada. The file may be corrput".

Anyone knows any solution to this?

I've tried jpeg repair program like stellar phoenix and some trick about the Preview program on mac, bot none of these worked. Maybe someone knows what to do, so i can have these photos in photo library.

Btw - on Windows photos open of course and i can see metadata. The problem is traditionally with mac.

Can you open these files in Preview, when you copy them from the external drive to your Desktop? What is the filename extension of the files?

I can't open them in Preview. I receive this communicate "The file “IMG_0424.JPG” could not be opened. It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize". It's just a random file out of all my photo files. The same thing occurs i try to open any of these files. I have two types of files that don't work. Their extension is either JPG or MOV.
