Ipad2
I know my iPad 2 is very old. Takes ages for home screen page to open & few other problems. Thinking of getting rid of it!! Can I trade in?

In the US there is a company that works with Apple for a trade-in in the form of an Apple gift card. An iPad 2 in good working condition with minimal wear would be worth a $55 Apple gift card. If it's ever received any outside servicing (battery or glass) they won't take it. I personally wouldn't do it for $55. I'd just buy a new one and just keep the old one around.
Right now (as in expiring today) Best Buy has the iPad Mini 4 128 GB on sale for $299. Brand new in box with full warranty. It currently only comes in 128 GB new. I bought mine last year when they had the same price. I don't know if a Mini works for you, but I rather like the smaller size. It's 1 processor generation (A8 vs A9) behind the iPad 5, but at that price and with that amount of storage I'd say it's a pretty good deal.

I am living in Dublin. Any recommendations?
Which Dublin? All the recommendations so far assumed that you lived in the United States, including the links to the trade-up page. If you could have taken advantage of it, they would required that the device be shipped to them (at their expense) for evaluation.
Let me have a look at what might be available in your area. Some retailers can have heavy discounts.
