Here's how to store ripped audiobook CDs in iTunes "audiobooks"

Hello everyone. Today i imported some audiobook CDs to my Mac (iTunes 12.7.3) and was surprised that the rips were sent to iTunes 'music' section instead of 'audiobooks' - even though i had everything set to 'audiobooks'. Before iTunes 12.7 i could rip audiobook CDs directly into iTunes 'audiobook' section. Now everything goes into 'music'. The reason i want these recordings placed in 'audiobooks' is so my iPod will record only the audiobooks, not my entire music collection, when i sync.

After a couple frustrating hours trying to repeatedly import into 'audiobooks', i discovered the solution was to move the rips from 'music' to 'audiobooks' once recorded. Here's how: double click the album or the ghosted music-note image of the recorded audiobook in iTunes 'music' section, then > album info > edit items > options > media kind > audiobook > OK. Using this method you can move anything in 'music' to 'audiobooks' - and back to 'music' - if you later change your mind.
