How do I remove duplicate photos in Photos?
I am trying to remove duplicate photos in my Photo library. Is there an easy way?

These applications will identify and help remove duplicate photos from a Photos Library:

PowerPhotos is the iPhoto Library Manager version for Photos and is very powerful. Although more expensive I would recommend it as it has more capabilities than the others like the capability to merge Photos libraries or copy photos along with their metadata between libraries.
PhotoSweeper compares bitmaps and/or histograms so it can detect duplicate images even if they have different sizes, file names, sizes and capture dates.

Thanks for warning! is that Photos Duplicate Cleaner you are talking about or Gemini or both?
This is NOT helpful since it seems every single photo has a duplicate and there are thousands going back over my lifetime of 58 years.
I agree with you that this new program is unwieldy and not well thought out for those migrating from the old iphotos, older computers, backed-up photos, etc.

Do you have both the iCloud Photo Library and My Photo Stream enabled?
Please state the name(s) of any such programs
Either manually b deleting them (select a photo you want to delete and then press command delete to move it ot the recently deleted folder then delete from there ( or wait 30 days for them to automatically be deleted) - or use a safe, tested duplicate identification program like PowerPhotos, Duplicate Annihilator for Photos or PhotoSweeper for Photos to identify then and then delete as above

Everyone I know HATES Photo app and we are not Apple geeks who are duplicating on purpose. You would think, the great Apple folks would hear us and simplify!
Also, the 'thumbnails' that duplicate and identify faces --added to the library of mess--is no help, either.
