How do I convert old m4p files to open aac or mp3 format?

I seem to have a number of older m4p files, and while this isn't an issue to play via iTunes they won't play when I try and stream via Sonos. How do I convert these files to something that Sonos will accept like aac or mp3? I subscribe to music match and apple music too.

Thanks for that but unfortunately it doesn't convert from protected formats. It appears that I did have the files in MP3 format on my iMac but when I played and used the playlist on my MacBook it converts all the files to M4p protected which is quite annoying as it's my content and not a protected format in its original location.
