At work, we have been given new computers. Our old MacBook Pro's are running an old version of os which does not have group containers. Our new MacBook Air's are running the most current version of os. I would like to transfer my notes from my old computer to my new. We are not allowed to use iCloud. I have tried to move the com.apple.notes file from old to new but it did not work. Any ideas?
Yes, that is correct. You are limited on what you can choose using Migration Assistant. The Notes app, as you are probably are already aware, only has two methods to "transfer" individual notes:
I have considered that but correct me if I’m wrong. But you can’t just transfer notes. I’m just looking to transfer notes nothing else?

Not sure why Apple did not provide a means to export notes in a format that can easily be imported, but maybe their thinking is that's what iCloud is for.
