I have an 8.5 x 11 document and wish to convert it to a 5.5 x 8.5, folded booklet format. There is no "print booklet" format that some sites have suggested. I prefer not to download software if I can help it; however, I also don't wish to spend an evening re-ordering pages and creating my own. Thanks.

Only two ways as far as I know - export to pdf and use the Booklet function in Adobe Reader.
Or, download a Word Booklet template and use that.
Your printer driver would be the thing that would lay it out as a booklet. If you printer doesn't support booklet layout, then you would need some other software to do it, as already mentioned.

Interestingly the printer I have has booklet capability in Windows, but not in MacOS......
Could you possibly be using the AirPrint driver instead of the regular one? Without looking at the printer manual, I'm not sure how I would tell the difference.
