Hi, Every time I delete my emails on my earthlink webmail page my Mail app also deletes my emails automatically as well. Is there anyway to stop this from happening?

Hi, I'm running OSX High Sierra. Every time I delete emails on my web mail server at Earthlink,

my Mail app automatically deletes those emails in my inbox as well. Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening?

Thanks!

MacBook Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3), Mail app

Thanks for your reply tygb.

I ended up chatting with an Earthlink tech and the problem was my incoming mail host was imap instead of pop.

Changed the settings in mail preferences and solved it.

All is working smoothly now.

The web mail and apple mail application both are configured , if any mail is deleted from web mail account it will automatically delete from apple mail application ( just acts like a mirror ) .

To avoid this delete the apple mail application by clicking on system preferences > internet accounts select the mail account and click on subtract sign .

There is no other way .
