IPod Classic (160Gb) Corrupted, Failing Disk?

The following is the SMART Data,

Retracts: 55

Reallocs: 10400

Pending Sectors: 120

PowerOn Hours: 72

Start/Stop: 5178

I'm guessing the disk is fried,

I have tried to downgrade to 2.0.3, no luck

Followed the following steps in this post (Corrupt iPod classic)

~Checked for drive Errors( Windows cannot access the disk) Result: N/A

~Attempted a "DFU Restore" Result: Error 1439

~Attempted a FAT32 Reformat, Failed

Any other solutions I'm willing to try!

Dead. As far I'm aware there is an upper limit of 16384 (ish) possible reallocations, but with two thirds used up already and a bunch of pending sectors it is likely that the even if you could get a clean format and map out all the currently unreliable space more would quickly show up as you tried to add data.
