HomePod not showing as available airplay speaker on iTunes or Apple TV.

HomePod is showing up as available Airplay speaker from the sound menu on Mac and the iPhone. But does NOT show as available as an airplay speaker on Apple TV or iTunes. I have confirmed all devices are logged in under same account and are on the same wifi network. The really strange thing is that from my MacBook Pro the HomePod is showing available from the sound menu- but not from the iTunes speaker selector.

I just want to respond here in hopes Apple will get the picture-

HomePod is read by IOS and OS devices for a few days, then simply disappears from Sound Preferences and Airplay. So, every few days I just have to reset the device in order for my computer & phone to be able to use it again.

I hope this gets addressed- I want to be able to play music, etc from my computer directly to the HomePod. Will basically never use it on it's own.

I had this problem although, after a while is slowly stopped showing on all devices. I called apple support and the girl said she would call me back in 3 hours after i had messed around with it for a bit. lol

However. I simply reset the HomePod, well twice. First time by removing from my HomeKit app (Still never worked). Then I unplugged it and held my finger on the top till siri told me to let go. After that, it showed up on everything and not really had a problem since (apart from it pausing the tv, like its timing out when watching movies).

After much tech support, I finally brought it back to the Apple Store for an exchange, which they did happily. Was told it wasn't transmitting something correctly. They don't have diagnostics for that device yet, so they just replaced it.

New one worked great for close to a week now- As it turns out, just today it is once again missing from my Sound Preferences.

So frustrating.

For anyone having this issue, I think I solved it (had help from another thread.)

Second HP (swapped the first), had the same issue. But- going into HP settings>Allow Speaker Access>select Everyone, AND Require Password.

This makes the device the access point, rather than your router/modem.

HP is now showing up in Sound Preferences. Hopefully this time it'll stay there.

Fingers crossed that this is the solution!
