Problems dragging and dropping in Garageband

I'm trying to create a podcast template in GarageBand, using version 10.2 with High Sierra on my MacBook Air. I'm not very experienced with the software, but I've recorded my intro, outro, and two podcasts. I thought I could just drag and drop them where I wanted, but I can't. I pick up an item from the media file that looks like I can drag and drop it, but it won't go into the audio region. Also, sometimes I get a message that says, "the project Outro" cannot be used because it was not prepared with an iLife preview." Then it gives an an option to open Outro in GarageBand and save it with an iLife preview. Any idea what this is about and why I can't drag and drop by audio?

though it's a little hard to tell exactly what's going on from your description, it sounds like what you're trying to do is drag/drop a GB project file, rather than an audio file (while a project may contain audio files, it is not an audio file itself)

open your pre-rolled projects (intro, outro...) and for each one share the Song to the Media Browser, to mix down and render out the audio. then you should be able to drag and drop the rendered audio files:
