Chrome refreshes by itself

I've noticed that on my new MacBook Pro with the larger trackpad and touch bar, that my chrome browser will refresh every now and then. It typically happens when I’m typing a lot into a text field. I think that maybe my palm might accidentally be hitting the larger trackpad but can’t confirm. It is annoying because I end up losing whatever I typed when the page refreshes.

Any solutions?

Any way to disable refresh shortcuts on Chrome?
