CarPlay disconnecting

Hello, Bought a new 2018 BMW 430i and have been having issues from the start with CarPlay using my iPhone X. Continuously disconnects and then reconnects. Usually after about 10 minutes of driving. Has anyone else had this issues and found any resolutions. I’ve been in contact with BMW and they are saying numerous people have been reporting it and it’s an Apple software issue.

iPhone X, iOS 11.2.5

Yesterday I went to the local Apple store. They erased and re-installed the IOS on my IPhone X. Since then, car play is working great. If it fails again, they say the issue will most likely be hardware at which time the phone will need to be replaced.

adding to the thread - iPhone x 13.3, brand new BMW x5 - connecting over wifi (the car creates its own network) random disconnects and stutter - on occasion is perfect for long periods of time then next journey can't play a song for more than a couple of minutes - also constantly drops calls back to the phone and then reconnects

amazingly frustrating

What utter garbage why don’t you write a proper Get Help article, this will definitely not fix anything.

It will help some people, especially those that have a newer Mercedes. Perhaps creating a new thread with details that concern your issue will lead to something more productive. If your purpose was to simply waste your time, congratulations.

Hello knowsitsalls,
I hadn't tried either to update Audi MMI, what I just did yesterday.
A short test this morning was encouraging :)
I try this evening on a 2h journey...

Excellent. Let us know how it goes. How did you update the MMI? Dealer?

Here’s the thing, after flicking through 419 pages in software this was the closest I could find to a serial number on page 1, if this isn’t what you need maybe you could suggest or send a screen shot of what you need
cheers

I need to email a friend in the AU. I'm getting a lot information on the Opel Insignia, which is what your car is based on. It seems that, in unusual fashion, the infotainment systems are different between the two. One runs a modified version of WindowsCE/Embedded the other runs something else.

This is not unusual for low production run cars.

Does your main screen look like this?

I know nothing of a valet code and there’s no mention of one in the manual, also, the manual says update software at dealership, this was checked at last service About November 2019 and was up to date I was told, next service due in a month or 2 so will get it checked again then (problem has existed prior to last check) I looked for the version and I took 3 pics page 1,2,3 then it goes into pysco babble for the next 400 pages so I took 4 pics of pages 416,417,418,419.....I appreciate your help on this and the time your taking to help
