Hello, Bought a new 2018 BMW 430i and have been having issues from the start with CarPlay using my iPhone X. Continuously disconnects and then reconnects. Usually after about 10 minutes of driving. Has anyone else had this issues and found any resolutions. I’ve been in contact with BMW and they are saying numerous people have been reporting it and it’s an Apple software issue.

It appears that in certain BMW cars where Carplay is wireless the connection is poor and carplay disconnects all the time. In some Evo ID5/ID6 units the WiFi antenna is missing. The Wifi antenna connects to the back of the unit which is very easy to take out (requires removal of 6 screws). It should be connected to the WLAN socket (the light blue connection on the right). Since I've connected it life is great and Carplay connection is excellent! WiFi antenna is cheap and can be easily ordered
SixStringHurricane, for most of us the problem occurs when we are trying to use CarPlay through Bluetooth, not a wired connection. “Turning off Bluetooth” is not a solution.
Updated online in the MMI interface > parameters > system update > online update

Ok sounds like a plan, I’m on the east coast Australia, everything else works ok through the USB port into mylink
