I'm using an iPhone X running iOS 11.2.5, love it. My 2 year old grabbed my phone and called 911/emergency on more than one occassion, by holding the volume and power button together. Is there a way to prevent these calls? Or atleast turn-off these shortcuts. I checked the SOS option and couldn't find any. Thanks in advance.

No, there is no way to prevent 911. Even if the phone isn't active on an account, in the U.S., it can call 911.
However, you can turn off the feature that will make those buttons call 911. Settings> Emergency S.O.S.>AutoCall>Off
And keep the phone out of reach of small children.

You can turn this off in Settings>Emergency SOS. This happens when you press the side button five times in quick succession.
Go to the Settings app on your iPhone. Tap Emergency SOS. Turn the switch for Auto Call to OFF.
Thank you guys. I did turn off the option a few days ago. Even with the autocall option turned off, the call goes through. What does this autocall-off toggle really mean? It provides a countdown from 10 to 1 before it places the call?
