Apple icloud breach legitimate?

I recently (11AM PST 2/18/18) got a call claiming my Apple icloud account has been breached and to contact apple support or to press 1 to be forwarded to Apple Support which I did and was connected to a foreign sounding person whom I could not understand. After asking several times to repeat his question and not understanding any of them I hung up. Is this legitimate or a scam?

Thanks for confirming my suspicions everyone. I usually just hand up on these guys, but this time I was curious as to what would happen if I just pressed 1 to be connected to Apple Support. After I hung up on the call I queried Google for "Apple icloud breach" and the only legitimate useful response I got was for an Apple Discussion Group question that had been closed by Apple because it was really old and if I wanted to re-open it to post again..... and so, it having been long enough since the previous question and wondering if there was anything new on this subject..... I did.
