my photos arent syncing through my devices

i have an iPad Pro and an iPhone 7+ and for a while now the photos aren’t synchronized through them. There are photos and vides on the iPad that aren’t showing on the iPhone and pictures on the iPhone that aren’t showing on the iPad. When I login on the iCloud online it only shows the photos and videos that show on the iPhone.

I don’t know why they aren’t syncing, since both used to sync always and pretty fast. There’s still a lot of memory in both devices and on the iCloud, both devices are at 97% of battery, connected to wi-fi and with the newest iOS updated (11.2.5).

OK, sounds like the iCloud website and the iPhone are in sync, but the iPad is not syncing any longer. What status shows up at the bottom of the Moments on the iPad? Does it say "Updated Just Now" or at least a very recent date, or does it show an older date, some pictures to upload or download, or some other message?

Also, have you powered down and restarted the iPad since you noticed this problem?

what is the moments? where can i find it? i don’t think i’ve ever seen it... i have restarted it already, after i updated the system...

Steps to get to the status in Moments (repeat on each device):

1. Launch the Photos app.

2. On the bottom of the screen, tap the leftmost icon, labeled "Photos" (rather than Memories, Shared, or Albums).

3. Look at the top of the screen on the middle for one of the words Years, Collections, or Moments.

4. If the word at the top is Years, scroll down to the bottom (probably after the heading "2018") and tap the last thumbnail image you can hit. The word at the top should now be "Collections".

5. If the word at the top is (now) Collections, scroll down to the bottom (again) and (again) tap the last thumbnail image you can hit. The word at the top should now be Moments.

6. If the word at the top is (now) Moments, scroll down to the bottom (one last time).

7. Below the last cluster of photos, you should see two lines of text: The first be in bolder type and should say something like "12,345 Photos, 987 Videos" (and maybe also some items). The other line is fainter and more variable. Let us know the contents of both lines. (You can X-out the photo and video counts, if you think they are sensitive information.)

Some sample status lines:

"Updating..."

"Updated Just Now"

"Last Updated 2 Minutes Ago"

even when i connect the ipad to the itunes it says that the photos on icloud is active, so i really don’t understand why it’s not working :( i recorded a pretty long video, so i thought that maybe was that but when i go check the memory in the settings, all of the photos only take 4Gb and i have storage for more than 100 on the ipad and 50 on the icloud, so i’m just lost

ok i found it, i has never gone in that tab before. in the bottom it shows something like ‘1.826 Photos, 70 videos’ and then ‘the upload of 9 items was stopped’ then in blue, clickable beside it is ‘restart’ and below it it says ‘saving better charge’, but i’m not in saving batter mode so i don’t get that?

also sorry if the translation is a bit off, my system is in portuguese so i’m not sure the exact, proper translations.

Was that on your iPad Pro? How do the numbers on your iPhone 7 Plus and on iCloud compare with those numbers? Does the iPhone also have incomplete uploads? (Probably not, if it seems to be in sync with iCloud.)

Quite likely, the 9 stopped uploads are mostly videos, just because videos tend to be much bulkier than simple photos. The device showing incomplete uploads won't do any downloads until the uploads complete. Does it have any very long videos?

The battery saving mode for iCloud Photo Library uploads is separate from others, triggered by long uploads when running on battery (apparently whatever the battery level). It is likely to happen again unless you leave the device plugged in long enough to upload the remaining videos. It will also need to be on wifi unless your iPad has cellular hardware and you have enabled Settings > Photos > Cellular Data > Cellular Data. (There's an adjacent Unlimited Updates switch. I don't know how the setting there relates to video sizes.)
