Why has Easter been removed from my calendar?
I am just curious as to why Easter has been removed from my calendar. What was the purpose of removing it while keeping other calendar dates that involve religious holidays.

Apple has removed religious holidays from the standard U.S. Holidays calendar. Christmas seems to be an exception, perhaps in recognition of the fact that it is, for many people, a Capitalist holiday, not a Christian one.
See Lawrence's instructions for subscribing to other calendars in this thread:
How come Easter isn’t showing up on my calander but all the other holidays are?
As of yesterday, Apple added back in Easter/Passover/Good Friday/Palm Sunday back into the calendar. Assuming the pressure made them revise, thankfully.
Well, I think it is (first of all) a religious holiday, that becomes official..
Easter day is always Sunday (obviously offices and schools are closed..., like every Sunday).
But in Italy, also the day after Easter (Monday) is a holiday (offices and schools are closed, not like every Monday.
I don't see the change yet and I just updated to 11.2.6 earlier today. Where did you see the change? Apple sounds like a bratty child. "If you don't like what I did I'll go to the other extreme". The phone is actually my wife's and is a progression from long ago when I bought her an iPod Touch with 32 gig. Cost a fortune! Then when the updates ceased due to lack of memory I was amazed. She now has a iPhone SE and iPad air.

I guess I should have expected that. First, the people who celebrated Easter had their knickers in a twist that it didn't appear on Apple Holiday calender and now, that Apple has put it back, there's whining that other religions' holidays also got added. There's just no pleasing some people. Talk about an unwillingness to accept diversity.
Seriously. How ridiculous is that? There should be options where we can delete holidays. Include them all if you want to be so culturally tolerant and then allow us to delete the ones we don't need.

A number of solutions are all over this thread and elsewhere on this site Sandra, all provided by experienced Mac users.

Where can I go to complain and try to get them to include Good Friday and Easter?
Those holidays have already been restored Sandra.
You asked for them to be restored. They were. In so doing Apple added holidays you wish to delete. You can.
I suspect you just want to complain. Prove me wrong.

Why hasn't Festivus been added? I find this very insulting.
And what about Saturnalia?
I prefer Bacchanalia.
Do I have to chose?
I am mortified! You are absolutely correct my friend - I did mean hordes...(clearly a word I don't use often - but I wouldn't even have thought to consult my dictionary!). Thank you for educating me 🙂 - I don't believe I'll be making that mistake again, now that I have been enlightened!!!

Does hoarding Christians make you a Christian? Sounds like a deep theological question to me.
Well, on a slightly serious note, Christians who believe that the end time is near DO hoard necessities to get through the tumultuous times. As do Mormons and some other sects. I did notice no Mormon holidays on the calendar, however, although I may have missed them.
Mormons don’t have their own holidays. The only religious holidays they celebrate are Christmas and Easter. Utah celebrates Pioneer Day on July 24 but it’s a State holiday and not designated as a “Mormon” holiday.

My Mormon uncle's garage was a sight to behold.
When was the last time you remember actually seeing it on your calendar?
To which calendars are you subscribed? I have Easter on my phone calendar.
I can confirm that Easter appears on my Calendar app (Italy)

Is it an official, government holiday in Italy?
Why has Easter been removed from my calendar?
