iOS 11.3 - Delete Message Confirmation

The newest iOS 11.3 update enables a feature that asks if you're sure you want to delete a text message/iMessage once you choose the delete option. It's making me crazy! I tried searching through the settings to remove this deletion confirmation, but can't find anything on the topic. Is there any way to remove this feature?

Of all the stupid “New Features” coming out on the weekly iOS updates... THIS IS BY FAR... the DUMBEST and MOST ANNOYING.

Hopefully The so called R n D department reads these threads

If you had actually read this thread, you would know 1) why the feature is important and 2) that the the only Apple employees who read these threads are the forums hosts. The link for giving feedback to Apple has been provided repeatedly in this thread. I will leave as an exercise to the reader to find it.

I’m a product manager/application designer and this is aweful. One cardinal rule is use as few clicks/steps necessry to perform an action. I hate this “new feature”!

Please revert this change!! Seems more like a bug to me.

Most of your fellow users don't care whether or not you like the feature. And, obviously, you didn't bother to read the thread or you'd understand why the feature is important. And, the other thing you would have discovered if you'd read the thread is how to tell Apple what you think.

Yes I agree Apple is feature is kind of annoying... please reconsider this before iOS 12 launches.

It is obvious that you didn't read the thread before posting. If you had, you would know 1) why the feature was implement and why it's important and 2) that Apple isn't reading here for suggestions.

I leave it as an exercise to the reader to go back through the thread to find the link to the feedback page to let Apple know how you feel.

To play devils advocate here, I think the Jaked up version of the ASC software causes many of these posts. If you notice georgev2 replied to the OP. If you go to this thread you see the OPs post and then 3 helpfuls (?) that agree with the OP. Scroll down and you get the read all replies. If you aren't familiar with the system you would tend to skip that button and click on Reply to the OP.

I've discussed with the Hosts that the current implementation doesn't encourage reading the whole thread. However, all it takes is scrolling to the bottom of the first page to see the "There's more to the conversation. Read All Replies".

I think it's more of a generational thing. And, by generational, I don't mean chronological age, I mean when people first came to the online world. It used to be standard etiquette (and was often posted on the home page) that you should read and lurk for a while before posting, that by doing so, you'd often find your answer or realize that your observation had already been posted a dozen times. Ah, well.

Happy Fourth!

Ah, someone else who jumped in with both feet without reading any of the thread posted to.

Well, when you weigh this crisis against the whole NATO thing (or whatever), you get a good sense of what's important in the world. 😁
