iOS 11.3 - Delete Message Confirmation

Here's the solution:

Open Messages in your iPhone, tap Edit in the upper-left corner. Then select the circle next to the conversation and tap Delete in the bottom-right corner. It will delete your selected conversation without any delete message confirmation.

Why? No one in this thread can make any changes. No one is looking at this thread to determine how many people don't like the change. Use the feedback link provided repeatedly to tell Apple what you think.

FYI, one option is to (command + del) hotkey the messages. Leave your mouse cursor over the delete button and click when necessary. This works well if you want to delete several messages at once. It's still a pain but quicker that swiping and navigating to the delete button every time --- hope they get this fixed.

And, exactly how do you use command - delete and a mouse on an iPhone?

There are far more important things in this life to hate then the insignificant problem of message deletion confirmation. It is a worst an extremely trivial nuisance. Just click it and get on with life.

This whole thing came when Apple provided exactly what you're asking. If you stay current in iOS Software and you are now storing your messages on the cloud, this option already exists. When you delete a message on one device, they will delete on all devices. This is another reason Apple put the warning for delete messages in place to begin with. Go to Settings > iCloud and turn on Messages in the cloud.

No, whether you use the cloud or don't, the confirm to delete is hard coded into messages.

No. It's not a problem, because it's doing exactly what Apple intended it to do. You may not like it, but that won't change it and Apple's code can't be overwritten by any user anywhere.

Nope. We are still hopeful though.

Your first statement is most accurate. People just can't seem to accept change, which leads to not accepting reality.

Amazingly stupid usability modification!! This is a high school programmer mistake!! The single, delete verification after swiping should be enough. Why should I be forced to confirm my confirmation!?

Because daily, until Apple made this change, people came here daily crying they accidentally deleted an important message and needed to get them back. And when Apple moved messages to the cloud, deleting a message on one device, meant they would be deleted on EVERY device. You may think this is poor programming, but to me, who has tried to help those people get an important message back, this was a very smart move.

I’m sorry, but one forced confirmation is enough. If an individual wants, or some individual needs, more “parenting” it should be an option. But to force this on the entire community is poor design—or as you say, poor programming. I understand the objective. There are better ways to achieve it.
