I've recently updated from iMovie 10.1.1 to 10.1.8 and now when I import clips to a project the second half of the audio is missing from every clip. I have checked the original files in each case, AND tried the the same thing with the same clips in 10.1.1 with no problem. I am on a Mid-2015 MacBook Pro running Running 10.12.6. Any ideas please?
What OS are you using? Are all the files which fail coming from the same source? Can you open one of the files in Quicktime player and post a screenshot of the inspector? Have you tried deleting preferences by opening iMovie holding down the command and option keys? One thing to try is using Handbrake to convert a file into MP4 with H264 encoder and AAC audio and see if that imports with all the audio.
