is that normal, that 56gb backup takes my second day, and only 16gb so far being backedup?, it looks like with this speed it will take 3-4 full days (96hrs) to complete [el capitan / to pony 64gb usb flash drive/ mac pro]. thank you

When using Time Machine to backup over Gigabit Ethernet to a network drive, you can expect a data transfer rate of approximately 25-30 GBs/hr. Backing up to different destination can better or worse rates. For example, if your Pony USB flash drive is only USB 2.0, it will be considerably less than that.
No disagreement there. I had been using TM with my Time Capsules originally and switched to using a combination of a WD My Book Pro Thunderbolt drive and a Synology DS916+ NAS for TM. Regardless, TM is just one of the methods that I use for my overall backup strategy. The TCs have not been updated since 2013 and we are finding TM backups to network drives, since macOS Sierra has been released, as problematic. TM relies on using the AFP file sharing protocol over a network which Apple appears to be abandoning.
I’m sure it’s also those “pony...” and even didn’t bother to check 2.0 or 3.0 now I’m sure it’s 2, anyways I’ve should have pick something more serious to back up to..., thank you Tesserax for your attention, I will squeeze my teeth and wait :)
Thank you for the response, but it just terribly slow, I’m kinda loosing my patience with it, I waned to upgrade my WiFi card, so I needed to turn machine off in order to do so while I have some time, but seemed like I STOCK with this “”slowness”.....ughh
