protective film on a new iPad

I just bought a new iPad. I was about to remove the protective film but then I wondered if there is any reason I can’t leave it on for a while. Thoughts?

If you’re talking about the film on the screen as I recall you have to remove it becaue it’s not transparent.

If it is and you want to leave it it shouldnt hurt anything, but you likely will have to remove it eventually because it’s not made to last forever.

There are plenty of screen protectors out there if you decide you want one. I’ve always used Zagg but you can research and find one that looks good for you.

The common advice is that the ipad doesn’t need a screen protector, however I do think that also depends on how you use it. If you use a stylus with it a lot or carry it around a lot vs it sitting on the coffee table and never leaving the house. Whether or not you have grubby kid fingers or not, etc.

Thanks, Skydiver119. It’s actually crystal clear. The initial setup is finishing up just now, and the only drawback I can see is it can’t read my fingerprint through the film so I would need to trim around the home button.

I have a Skinomi screen protector on my old iPad that has held up very well, but will check on Zagg also. Thanks for the tip.
