I had deleted an older version of Xcode then went to the App Store to download the latest version but instead of the GET popup menu, it said OPEN. I cannot download Xcode.
All I did was deleted the older version of Xcode from the Application folder.
Is there a way to fix this frustrating problem?
Does the hand knows what the other hand is doing.... please help.

After rebooting my Mac Pro, I had no problems downloading Xcode from the App Store.
Yes, rebooting is the 1st line of troubleshooting issues with a Mac.
What happens when you click Open?

Just so you are aware, the latest version of Xcode available from the App Store requires macOS 10.12.6 or later.
