Time Capsule says it is not backing up, but backups found in Time Machine

I'm having some issues with my Time Capsule. It says that it has not been making backups, although if I enter into Time Machine, I can still see the snapshot images of the hourly backups. Additionally when I enter my time capsule preferences I am given the choice to remove a disk named "data" or backup to a disk named "data." If I select that I want to backup to the disk named "data" I am given this message:

Confused...

The "snapshots" that you see are not on the Time Capsule. They are on your Mac. Please see this Apple Support document for more information on Local Snapshots:

About Time Machine local snapshots - Apple Support

"Data" is the name of the hard drive on a Time Capsule. The message indicates that Time Machine thinks that you might have two Time Capsules. If you do, and you want to back up to both Time Capsules, then click "Use Both".

If you have only one Time Capsule, choose "Replace Data".
