When I use the Speak Screen function, in the Kindle and iBook app, it skips to the last couple of paragraph at the bottom of the page, advances to the next page and does the same thing. Is anyone else having this problem? Any help would be appreciated.
Recently, I have updated IOS version. Maybe the problem is the IOS version because it didn't never happen before.
iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 11.2.6
I contacted kindle this morning about this issue and this was their response "I can definitely assist you with any issues you might be having with the kindle application. However, the "Speak Screen" is a functionality that Apple provides in their IOS operating system. The issue you're experiencing is related to the compatibility with the Speak Screen and 3rd party applications. We have had customer contact us about this. We have notified Apple about their compatibility and they've notified us that Speak Screen is fully compatible with their IBooks (Owned by Apple) and they do not plan on making it compatible with the kindle application (Owned by Amazon). I'm sorry about this"
As I have said, this problem happen on iBook and Kindle not just on Kindle. I Will call to support and I will share the solution here. In my opinion, it’s a system bug and it’s not related with Kindle or iBook update.
Me too! I’m an avid kindle lover and was married to speak screen. Suddenly at the gym, voice screen stops speaking at end of every page and speak screen icon closes. Hate to overreact but this is almost devastating for a reader!
In retrospect maybe apple will come up with something better or a third party app developer will come up with a fix or a new product. For example you used to be able to get gmail client on the Windows store and now you can't but you get third party apps that will do the same thing as gmail app.
Maybe Apple has been having problems with Speak Screen so it is now time for something else, Apple likes to be innovative (shake up the apple cart) and has the right to do what they want.
Having read all of the posts, I certainly hope that the notion that Apple did this on purpose is false. I am a 'sticky' Apple customer. I have most of the products. Same problem here. If Apple did this on purpose is like... like... ...I don't know... disappointing at best ... unethical at worst. I'm one who tells 17 people when a company lets me down. I have always been one who tells people how Apple is 'insanely great.'. Apple...Steve would not be pleased...if you did this on purpose.
I just pray this gets fixed soon. Im falling behind in my reading BIGTIME and most of the books are helpful for my mind, body and spirit. I wish I could call out to the powers that be.....PLLLLLLLS APPLE or Kindle fix this!

Yes! Me too and it has been emotionally upsetting for me to be so behind on my reading because Rely so much on and am married to this most awesome feature. Hoping someone finds the answer /repair
Could Apple have crippled the Speak Screen feature only for the Amazon app?
My thousands of books are in Kindle format. I will not be switching them to iBooks.
If it is not an Apple problem, then why does it do the same thing in the Kindle app AND the IBook app (using a PDF)?
I do think Amazon should look at the Page Flip functionality with respect to this issue. I did see something weird with it, but couldn't determine what.
