Ipad mini question

I have a really weird thing to discuss: i just plugged my ipad mini (1st generation, 9.3.5)into the wall to charge and for no reason at all it just went to the "Activation Required" screen and now I can't use the device. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. If so can you please help me with this because this has also happened on my ipad 2.

I am wondering if the Activation Required issue is indicative of a failing battery issue or not.

Lots of iPad 2 owners are starting to get this message.

I own an iPad 2, but haven’t had this issue, yet.

These devices are getting old, now and their original batteries aren't going to last too much longer.

I would take your iPad 2 and Mini into Apple and have them diagnose both.

Both are basically the same hardware and the Mini is approaching the 6 year old mark.

IPad 2 will be 7 years old by this April.

Have you ever backed up these iPads all of these years prior to this issue?

If not, any important data on these devices will be lost.

It’s important to always make regular backups of these devices in the case something fails with these mobile devices as these devices are not long term data storage devices.
